Finasteride 1mg tablets are used to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is a common condition affecting men.Benign prostatic hyperplasia is caused by an enlarged prostate. In the realm of hair loss treatment, there is a need for hair restoration solutions to address the concerns of receding hairlines, an enlarged prostate, and other related medical issues. In the UK, it is advised that the hair loss medication Proscar is not a suitable solution for everyone, as it can cause side effects, such as a decrease in libido or erectile dysfunction. In Australia, the use of finasteride in combination with an oral tablet is recommended, as it can lead to severe side effects including hair loss and sexual dysfunction. In the US, Finasteride has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of male pattern baldness and is considered safe and effective in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia. The active ingredient, finasteride, is a dihydrotestosterone type II receptor (DHT-II) inhibitor that blocks the type II 5-alpha reductase enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT. By inhibiting this enzyme, finasteride helps shrink the prostate gland and promotes hair growth, which can lead to the improvement of prostate health. In addition to the mentioned benefits, the drug also has some potential side effects, which may include sexual dysfunction, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, or a decrease in the number of erections per month. It is important to note that while the side effects of Finasteride are less commonly reported, there are reports of rare serious side effects that may occur.
